For development of a project on different branches it might be useful to show the name of the directory where the development takes place. It can be done by putting

into the file project.def.tex, see show-projectroot in Section 28.10.4.
In myalps.tex.nw appears a line13 that contains
\ifShowPROJECTROOT

If this command expands to true, the project root is shown on the first page of the documentation.
